Through her research work Dr. Sanju Singh is investigating antimicrobial potential of microbial endophytes i.e., microbes living inside plants. Microbes are a suitable candidate for development of pharmaceutically important molecules as they can be produced at large scale through fermentation and a variety of genetic modifications can be done to get the desired yield. Investigation and exploitation of microorganism for the development of new medicines is the need of the hour for combating increasing infections and pandemics.
